Fources reduces KPN’s fixed costs

For KPN, Fources realised a shift from fixed to variable training costs - a ratio of 40% (fixed): 60% (variable) became 14% (fixed): 86% (variable). The new ratio made KPN more flexible in times of change, and training costs were halved.

Training costs halved

Besides shifting the costs from fixed to variable, the training costs per FTE halved within KPN. It is important to note that this substantial reduction in fixed training costs did not have any negative effects on the quality of the training programmes on offer.

From business objectives to training needs

When it comes to training, Fources has been a KPN preferred supplier for a number of years. Together with the client we prepare objectives and budgets for the training function for a four-year period. They in turn lead to sub-plans, based on KPIs, in which Fources advises the client on the training range and the implementation method. In fact, Fources’ activities are fully comparable with the activities that would be carried out by an in-house training department. However, with an in-house department the client needs training consultants who can translate the business objectives into training needs - like Fources' consultants do.
